We all know that, Online video is a great new experience, and new parents discovered that showing their kids/tots videos on the computer screen is a great way to spend time together. So they head to the leading video websites. While the sites have great content for all ages, including tots and kids, they were not intended for children under the age of 13. They provide no way to filter anything that may be inappropriate and they provide very limited tools to find what is appropriate and relevant.

This is where Totlol steps in.

Photobucket

Launched for beta testing in May 2008, Totlol is a community-moderated video website designed to be enjoyed by those between the ages of 6 months and 6 years. Videos available at Totlol are all intended to be enjoyed by tots. Parents can easily find the content they want because all the "other stuff" is now out of the way.

Photobucket

Totlol is a cool idea, and the only children's video site that we know of that relies on parental screening to decide which videos to add to its database. The site has all the tools to potentially develop a great online community of parents and the young-at-heart.

You might come across plenty of online typing speed tests that's boring and not so fun to do repeatedly. Typeracer is a new kid on the block that makes typing and finding your speed a fun process. It's a social typing game that lets you match your typing speed against strangers or friends by letting you see how your skills stack up against others. Let me tell you, it's extremely addictive and you will be going to fire your keyboard again and again.

Enter the RACE...

Photobucket

TypeRacer demands you to type a comparatively short snippet of text, which may be a citation from a book, movie, or something else you can buy on Amazon (they are affiliated with Amazon of course!). As you're typing, a little car will move across the screen and you can see other drivers/typists racing. Fresh races begin pretty regularly so you should only have to wait a few seconds to join a race. Just recall, if you drop a bit much time eying the competition, you're going to fall back and so you'll never make the high scores list.

Photobucket

and adding icing to the cake, your stats are tracked by cookies too.

Photobucket

Enjoy the thrilling typing speed test!

In PhotoShop, photo effect is considered as the final result which had to be quite different from the orignal picture and be recognized as a post production photo manipulation. That idea would leave all kind of complex photo retouching and subtle color correction out of the discussion. So, with that idea in mind, Enrique Flouret gathered, what I consider 100 of the best photo effects Photoshop tutorials available on the web.

If you ever want to create a photo effect on PS, just refer to this stunning collection!

Here are some of the photo effects which you can create by these tutorials... (In pictures order: Dramatic gritty effect, Water reflection, Watercolor painting, Illustration effect, Photo to sketch, Polaride collage, Pencil sketch, Da vinci style, Dusk lighting effect, Snow effect, Vector art, Lichtenstein pop art, Portrait painting effect, Blurry scanlines, Frosted pixels, Motion blur, iPod style, hot and fiery effect and many more!

What looks like a 'Alien suit'...

Photobucket

isn't a 'Alien suit' at all! It's a wearable bike/motorcycle, named "Yamaha Deus Ex Machina (God Out of a Machine)" designed/created by Art Center Pasadena student Jake Loniak.

Photobucket

Bye bye to too boring conventional linear bikes! Enter the Biomechatronics (Biology, Mechanics, and Electronics) inspired, the Deus Ex Machina which is an electric, single passenger, vertically parking and wearable motorcycle controlled by 36 pneumatic muscles with 2 linear actuators. It is worn like an exoskeleton and features seven artificial vertebra as well as the pneumatically attached helmet.
Photobucket
The motor is in-wheel, powered by ultra-capacitors and doped nano-phoshpate batteries similar to those already used in hybrids. It's also capable of 0 to 60Mph in three seconds and top speed is 75Mph with a recharge time of 15 minutes and cycle time of one hour. Hats off to Mr.Loniak for designing such a hightech, sci-fi urban transportation machine. Although it's still in proto design, hope it'll sell like a hot cake when it'll release.
